OUR STORY
AUGUST 2011: THE BEGINNING
Everything began back in August 2011 at the Fraser High School marching band camp. Steven played the saxophone, and Mary played the clarinet but was chosen to march with the saxophones. After countless late rehearsals, marching performances, and band festivals, it was finally meant to be. These high school sweethearts became a couple in December of Steven’s senior year and Mary's junior year.
2012 - 2018: THE MIDDLE YEARS
Over the past seven and a half years, Mary and Steven have had many adventures, started/finished (& started again) school, and started their careers. Mary and Steven both graduated from Fraser High School and continued their studies at Wayne State University. Steven studied and received a Bachelor of Music in 2016 and Mary will graduate as a Doctor of Pharmacy in May 2020 (just two weeks before their wedding)!
During this time, Steven transitioned his love for technology, music, and finance (working both for Apple and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra) into a full-time career as a financial advisor with Kennedy Financial Group. Mary took her passion for pharmacy and the medical field and is now a Pharmacy Intern at Henry Ford Health System and a PharmD candidate at Wayne State University.
In their spare time, they both share their love for dogs, the Jonas Brothers, and Steven’s band, If Walls Could Talk (visit Merch Girl Mary at the merch table at their next sh0w 😉).
DECEMBER 2018: THE ENGAGEMENT
On December 21st, 2018, Mary was running the merch table at If Walls Could Talk’s sold out show at the Loving Touch in Ferndale, MI. What she didn’t know was that by the end of the night, Steven would propose to her in front of their families and 400 of the band’s closest fans.
